Information & Educational Technology presents the UC Davis Internet Tools CD. This CD provides instructions to configure your connection to the Internet through UC Davis, as well as the most convenient way to get the programs you'll need to use that connection. Best of all, the CD is supported by IT Express, the central campus computing help desk.

The UC Davis Internet Tools CD includes:

• Firefox - Web Browser
• Thunderbird - E-mail Client
• PuTTy (Win) - Remote Login Application
• WinSCP (Win), Fugu (Mac OS X) - Secure File Transfer Program
• Ad-Aware and Spybot Search & Destroy (Win) - Anti-Spyware
• Sophos AntiVirus - Anti-Virus Software
  

Also included on this CD is a "Getting Connected" folder with instructions for connecting to the campus network. Software versions will be updated throughout the year.

Updates

It is a good idea to keep the software on your computer up to date. Go to http://itexpress.ucdavis.edu/online/updates/ to see if the software on your UC Davis Internet Tools CD has been updated.

Minimum System Requirements

All systems require:
CD/DVD-ROM drive
Ethernet card, 802.11b/g wireless card, or modem
Windows 2000, XP, Vista OR Mac OS X 10.3.9 and above

Availability

This CD will be available to UC Davis affiliates free of charge at the start of Fall Quarter 2008 and will be available from the IET computer lab in room 182 Shields Library.
